Medical work in Thailand
A Burmese lady living in a community of displaced peoples across the border was seen by a medical mission team from Singapore and referred to our hospital for a large tumour that had grown out of her kidney.
With financial support from the medical team, and the anaesthesia and surgical support from a visiting team of doctors and nurses from Singapore, we were able to perform a CT scan and plan an operation to safely remove
the tumour. (See photo) The operation was successful and she returned home well in the same week.
Our work in Kwai River Christian Hospital allows us to be a channel for the care, financial support and medical expertise from our partners in other countries. We see the ability to leverage on these types of partnerships as being vital to the transformation of hospital medicine for the future.
